Senator Larkin Passes Resolution Honoring Leadership Orange 2016 Hall Of Fame Inductees

Senator Bill Larkin (R-39th District) proudly announced that the New York State Senate unanimously passed his resolution honoring this year’s Leadership Orange Hall of Fame inductees.  The resolution passed on the same day that the organization hosted its 4th Annual Hall of Fame Awards Event and 20th Anniversary Celebration.

“It is an honor to recognize all of these terrific community leaders who are dedicated and determined to make Orange County a better place to live and work,” said Larkin. “I commend their commitment to making our community stronger and congratulate them on their achievements.”

Larkin also praised Leadership Orange for their two decades of good works and congratulated them on reaching their 20th Anniversary milestone.

This year, six individuals were selected for induction into the Leadership Orange Hall of Fame for making significant, tangible leadership contributions to Orange County.  The inductees include:

  • Maureen  Halahan,  Class  of  2003,  President/CEO  of   Orange   County Partnership;
  • Kristin   E.   Jensen,   Class   of   2012,  Director  of Communications and Development, Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County, New York;
  • Frank P. Kimler, Class of 2014, Manager, Nugent & Haeussler, PC, and Chairman, Hudson Valley Honor Flight,  Inc;
  • Karen C.  Miller,  Class  of  2004,  Communications  Manager, National Region, Frontier Communications;
  • Ellen L. Quimby, Class of 2014, Affiliated Producer,   William A.  Smith  &  Son  Insurance,  and  Immediate  Past President,  Pine  Bush  Area  Chamber  of  Commerce;
  • Jill Varricchio, Class of 1999, President, Putnam County Economic Development

Leadership Orange is an annual 10-month leadership training program where individuals from Orange County are selected to receive training on topics important to Orange County residents and businesses.  The program helps participants better understand  the  many challenges facing Orange County residents, enabling them to provide more comprehensive services and assistance to  the  Orange  County community.

"Leadership Orange taught me so much about our great county, being a better leader and the many ways we can contribute to our community as citizens," said Frank Kimler, Hall of Fame Inductee and Chairman of Hudson Valley Honor Flight. "It was an honor being recognized by my Leadership Orange peers and by Senator Bill Larkin. Organizations like Leadership Orange and leaders like Bill Larkin have helped make Orange County such a quality place to live, work and raise a family."

Leadership Orange is a private, non-partisan organization that relies on support from the business community to reach its goals.  To date, over 330 individuals have graduated from the Leadership Orange program since its inception in 1993.
