Senator Larkin Secures $150,000 Grant For Walden Riverfront Boardwalk

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C-I, 39th District) recently announced that he has secured $150,000 in state grant funding for the Village of Walden to build a boardwalk at their Riverfront Walk on Maple Street. The boardwalk will create a venue for outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, and boating and add much desired access to the historic Wallkill River.

“As we navigate through the hustle and bustle of our hectic lives, it is important for our residents to have the opportunity to relax and enjoy outdoor activities,” said Senator Larkin. “I am proud to have secured this funding for the Village of Walden so they can provide a fun and free place for families to visit the Wallkill River and discover all that it has to offer.”

“On behalf of the residents of the Village of Walden, I would like to thank Senator Larkin for securing funding for the Wallkill River Front Project,” said Susan Rumbold, Village of Walden Mayor. “The beautification of our riverfront is so important to our community and with this $150,000 grant our project will be fully funded.”
