Senator Bill Larkin (R-39th District) is pleased to announce that he was able to secure a $200,000 State and Municipal Facilities Program (SAM) Grant for the Village of Monroe. The funding will be used to make critical infrastructure repairs and improvements in the village.
“I am pleased that I could secure a $200,000 SAM Grant for the Village of Monroe to help them make needed infrastructure improvements in order to enhance the quality of life for local residents,” said Larkin. “The state and local partnership is instrumental in revitalizing our region’s infrastructure and I will continue to fight to secure state grants to fund worthy projects throughout the Hudson Valley.”
Village of Monroe Mayor Jim Purcell said: “I would like to thank Senator Bill Larkin for securing this much needed infrastructure grant and for setting a standard of leadership that is unmatched. Senator Larkin continues to support Monroe by advancing necessary infrastructure projects that will increase the quality of life for our residents.”
The SAM grant secured by Senator Larkin will be used to update lagoons at its water treatment plant and make finishing improvements to Rye Hill Road. These upgrades will help protect the environment, maintain clean water and enhance traffic safety for local families.
