(ALBANY, NY) – New York State Senator Chris Jacobs (SD-60) yesterday voted in favor of a permanent state spending cap to ensure responsible state budgets.
“Every family in Buffalo and Western New York works to manage their household budget. Albany should do the same,” said Senator Chris Jacobs. “A permanent state spending cap ensures that Albany doesn’t run up a bill that the taxpayers of New York have to pay.”
The legislation (S365) would limit state spending to a three year rolling average of inflation and increase the maximum capacity of the state’s rainy day fund.
