Senator Elaine Phillips Co-Sponsors Citizen Preparedness Corps Training Program
December 5, 2017
Senator Elaine Phillips recently co-sponsored a New York Citizen Preparedness Corps training program in Westbury. The program, first launched in 2014, seeks to provide citizens with the tools and resources necessary to prepare for emergencies and disasters, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions.
“It seems that severe weather events and other natural disasters are becoming more frequent. Now more than ever we need to make sure more New Yorkers have the training and preparedness to assist and help when catastrophes strike,” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “Thank you to all those who attended the two-hour training course. It is important that local citizens are prepared in case of an emergency and I was pleased to see so many dedicated citizens in attendance.
