Senator Elaine Phillips Co-Sponsors Long Island Care’s Annual Government Affairs Breakfast

Senator Elaine Phillips recently co-sponsored Long Island Cares’ 10th annual Scott Martella Government Affairs Breakfast.
“Good nutrition is essential to the physical and intellectual development of kids and I applaud Long Island Cares’ efforts, programs and services aimed to ensure children in our region have access to free healthy meals and snacks,” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “Thank you to Long Island Cares for inviting me to co-sponsor this year’s Government Affairs Breakfast.”
Long Island Cares brings together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long Island and provides for the humanitarian needs of our community. Long Island Cares mission is to improve food security for families, sponsor programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educate the public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island.
Scott Martella served on the Long Island Cares’ Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013, and died in an automobile accident last year.
