Senator Elaine Phillips Participates In Beautiful Me Program Through Gateway Youth Outreach

Senator Elaine Phillips recently took part in the “Beautiful Me” program presented by the Hance Family Foundation to students participating in the Gateway Youth Outreach afterschool program at Clara H. Carlson School in Elmont.
“It is imperative that we teach young girls that they have the power to embrace who they are, and to appreciate their talents, aspirations and potential. The ‘Beautiful Me’ program provides young women with guidance to becoming stronger and more confidant individuals.” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “Thank you to the Hance Family Foundation, the Elmont School District and Gateway Youth Outreach for inviting me to participate in this outstanding program and to witness these young women build strength and self-confidence”
The “Beautiful Me” program is taught over the course of three weeks in one hour sessions and is designed to educate young women by promoting an appreciation for their individual qualities, emphasizing self-esteem, improving leadership qualities, encouraging helping others and most importantly, female empowerment.
