Citing her ongoing commitment to assist local libraries, Senator Elaine Phillips today announced she has secured $10,000 in state funding for the Port Washington Public Library.

Senator Phillips recently toured the library and learned first-hand about the many services and events offered, including author discussions and film screenings,  educational programs for teenagers and seniors, as well as ‘English as a Second Language’ classes.

“The Port Washington Public Library is a central community center for residents of all ages to explore a wide variety of service and programs beyond reading materials.” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “As someone who recognizes the great importance of our local libraries, it was an honor to secure this funding, which will help play a crucial role in shaping the education of children in our community.”

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees and library administration, I would like to thank Senator Elaine Phillips for securing this funding for the Port Washington Public Library,” said Nancy Curtin, Library Director. “Your work in restoring library aid and increasing capital funding in the state budget is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support of public libraries.”
