August 9, 2017
“There is no greater resource in our communities than local libraries,” said Senator Phillips. Libraries provide countless opportunities through programs for children, adults and senior citizens, as well as services such as job searches, preparing for job interviews and developing resumes.
Senator Phillips toured the Williston Park library recently and learned about the numerous programs, including events for both adults and children, such as book discussions, arts & crafts activities and story hour.
“The Williston Park Library provides the community with a variety of programs and services important to residents and I thank Library Director Donna McKenna and the entire staff for their outstanding efforts,” said Senator Elaine Phillips. “This funding will help to ensure the library has the means necessary to continue providing services to local children and families so they may have the opportunity to learn and grow.”
“The Williston Park Library is so grateful to Senator Phillips for this generous grant of $10,000,” said Donna McKenna, the Library Director. “Although definite plans have yet to be confirmed, I’m working with the staff in gathering ideas as to how to effectively use the money to benefit the library, the community and the staff.”
