Senator Phillips Congratulates Hicksville Boys & Girls Club’s “Youth of the Year” Award Winner

Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) recently congratulated Hicksville High School senior Raghav Khurana on earning the Hicksville Boys & Girls Club’s 2017 “Youth of the Year” award. 

The award is the highest honor given by the Boys & Girls Club.  It recognizes outstanding contributions to a club member’s family, school, and overall community, as well as their perseverance in overcoming personal challenges and obstacles.

Raghav has been a member of the Hicksville Boys & Girls Club since 2011.  During that time, he has served as a tutor and peer counselor for other students, directed the club’s “Triple Play” sports program and played a key role in programs and events that help those who are in need.

Senator Phillips presented Raghav with a legislative resolution she sponsored, which was passed by the Senate, in recognition of his accomplishment. With passage of the resolution, his name and achievement will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.
