Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) is sponsoring a senior scam prevention program to help senior citizens protect themselves from fraud. The program, which Senator Phillips is holding with the New York State Department of State’s Division of Consumer Protection, will take place at the Great Neck Social Center (80 Grace Avenue, Great Neck) on Wednesday, April 19th at 10 am.
Staff from the Division of Consumer Protection, together with representatives from LiveOn NY, will inform residents about recent scams targeting senior citizens and teach them steps to prevent identity theft, protect their personal information, and avoid becoming a victim of fraud. Seniors will also be able to ask questions.
The free program is open to all seniors. Seniors wishing to participate are asked to register in advance.
Seniors who would like to attend the scam prevention program on April 19th should register by calling Senator Phillips’ office at 516-746-5924.
