Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) recently sponsored a senior scam prevention program in Great Neck to help local seniors protect themselves from scams, fraud and identity theft. The program was held at the Great Neck Social Center.
Over 50 local seniors took part in the program, which featured presentations from the New York State’s Department of State’s Division of Consumer Protection and LiveOn NY. Seniors learned about many of the scams which target the elderly, along with important steps they can take to avoid becoming a victim.
Seniors who could not attend the program but would like information about consumer protection safety tips can call Senator Phillips’ office at 516-746-5924 or visit Senator Phillips' website, phillips.nysenate, gov, and click on the "Senior Scam Prevention" link on the homepage.
