Senator Phillips Honors Port Washington’s Newest Eagle Scout
January 23, 2017
Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) recently congratulated Evan Johns of Boy Scout Troop 7 in Port Washington for earning scouting’s highest honor; the rank of Eagle Scout.
Senator Phillips presented Evan with a legislative resolution she sponsored honoring him for achieving Scouting’s highest rank. The New York State Senate unanimously adopted the legislative resolution on January 18th. Passage of the resolution places Evan’s name and accomplishment into the New York State Senate’s official record.
“Eagle Scout is an honor aspired by many but achieved only by a select few. Successfully completing the years of hard work, training and community service needed to earn scouting’s highest rank, as Evan has done, is something that is really special and deserving of commendation. Congratulations to Evan, his family and Troop 7 on this achievement,” said Senator Phillips.
