Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) is inviting local families to participate in her summer reading program. The program helps promote literacy and encourages children to continue reading during the summer months.
Senator Phillips’ summer reading program is open to all students ages pre-K to 7th grade in her Senate district. To complete the program, participants must read at least three books and write a brief description of them in a summer reading journal. Once children fill out their journal and have it signed by a parent, they can send it back to Senator Phillips’ office to receive an official New York State Senate certificate.
Parents interested in having their children participate in Senator Phillips’ summer reading program can obtain a summer reading journal by calling her office at 516-746-5924 or clicking here.
