Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) recently joined with the Port Washington community at an event in support of a Port Washington Police Officer who was seriously injured in the line of duty.
The Port Washington Police Benevolent Association hosted a blood drive to support Officer Michael McNulty, who suffered severe injuries while aiding the Port Washington Fire Department in a rescue. Officer McNulty is still in the hospital and will need several additional major surgeries.
Local residents came out in large numbers to support the event and Officer McNulty, donating over 250 pints of blood. Some patiently waited in line for up to two hours to donate.
