Senator Phillips' Memorial Day Message

Memorial Day is a time for our community to come together to honor and remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Freedom and liberty are what make America the special place that it is.  However, freedom is not free.  It has been, and still is, safeguarded by brave men and women from our communities who answered the call to serve in the American military.  We are grateful for their service.

Throughout our country's history, over 1.1 million servicemen and women have made the ultimate sacrifice defending it. 

Whatever your plans are for the holiday, please remember and be thankful for these heroes who gave their lives so that we could continue to live in freedom.
