Senator Phillips Supports Carle Place High School Students in the Fight Against Skin Cancer

 Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) recently joined with students from Carle Place High School to support their efforts to fight skin cancer.

 For the last several months, the students have been working to increase awareness about skin cancer, along with raising funds for skin cancer screening and educational programs sponsored by the Colette Coyne Melanoma Awareness Campaign (CCMAC).  They chose the cause because skin cancer has deeply affected the Carle Place High School family; both a Carle Place alumni and the twin sister of Carle Place’s athletic director lost their lives after battles with skin cancer.

Their most recent effort was a “battle of the classes” event, where they received a $1,000 donation from Altice Connects to support their efforts.  Senator Phillips attended the event, congratulated the students on their efforts and thanked them for working so hard to save lives.
