Senator Elaine Phillips (R-Manhasset) recently visited Burns Avenue School in Hicksville to serve as a guest reader to students in Mrs. Frances Blaney’s second grade class.
Senator Phillips read “If I were President” by Catherine Stier and DyAnn DiSalvo-Ryan to Mrs. Christine Palmieri’s third grade class. The book helps children learn about the presidency and government, what their responsibilities are and some of the day to day tasks a President must deal with.
