Over 1,000 People Attend Sanders' Job Fair At Rochdale Village

Over 1,000 people attended the Job & Hiring Fair held by State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village) - a record breaker for his office. The event took place on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Rochdale Village Community Center inside the Grand Ballroom. Job seekers explored the employment opportunities which were offered by over 50 different companies in fields such as health, education, law enforcement, customer service and transportation.
"I feel blessed to be able to bring these job opportunities to the district," Sanders said. "We have some talented, qualified individuals here that would be a worthy addition to any company. It's all about being positive and going out and getting those positions."
A variety of vendors participated in the job fair, seeking prospective employees. They included: FedEx, Coccoon Homecare, Geico, Council for Airport Opportunity, NYC Human Resources Administration, United States Postal Service, HealthFirst, NYC Department for the Aging, Port Authority of NY & NJ, White Castle, FDNY, NYPD, Queens Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Customs & Border Protection, World Financial Group, Royal Home Care, NYS Department of Labor, NYC Department of Education, NYC Men Teach, Resorts World, Non-Traditional Employment for Women, Charter Communications, NYC Department of Environmental Protection, Richmond Hill U.S. Army Recruitment Center, NYC Department of Correction, NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services, Gateway Sports and Pools, Workforce 1, and many more.
Senator Sanders would like to thank the Rochdale Village Management and Board of Directors, particularly Jean Castro, First Vice President, and Clifton Stanley Diaz, Chairman, as well as Julia Shaw, Director of the Rochdale Village Community Center for helping to facilitate the event.
