Senator Serrano's office was joined by the Food Bank For NYC at the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center to provide SNAP Assistance for residents of East Harlem. Senator Serrano and the Food Bank For NYC offered one-on-one personal assistance to determine eligibility for SNAP, as well as additional assistance with completing recertification and reporting changes to accounts.
This Snap assistance information session was part of the Senator's month-long off-site constituent services hours focused on informing residents about health and wellness initiatives. During the month of January, the Senator partnered with various health groups, such as the NYC Health Department's East Harlem and Bronx Public Health Offices, the New York StateWide Senior Action Council, the Food Bank for New York City, and the East Harlem Asthma Center to bring free health initiatives to all of the communities in the 29th Senate District.
