Albany, NY – Senator Kathy Marchione (R,C,I,Reform-Halfmoon), Chair of the Senate Local Government Committee, and Senator Jim Tedisco (R,C,I,Ref-Glenville), today congratulated the Shenendehowa Boys High School Varsity Swimming and Diving Team, and Head Coach Chuck Dunham, on being ranked number one in New York State by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association and also for winning the Section II Division I Swimming and Diving Championship. Senators Marchione and Tedisco spoke on the Senate Floor today, honoring and recognizing the Shenendehowa student-athletes' undefeated championship season.
The Plainsmen Swimming and Diving Team were ranked number one – out of 22 schools – in our state by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association in the Large School Category. The Plainsmen ended their season with an impressive, undefeated 11-0 record, including winning the Section II Division I Swimming and Diving Championship. The team scored 503 points to beat the Bethlehem High School Boys Swimming and Diving Team by an impressive 151-point margin on Saturday, February 18. Prior to that, the Plainsmen won the LISCA Eastern States Championship with an impressive 554 points on January 21, at the Nassau County Aquatic Center.
