Senate’s Budget Designed to Give All New Yorkers the Opportunity to Succeed

I’m pleased to report that the State Senate is moving the State Budget process forward with the passage of a soundly balanced, fiscally responsible budget plan that will help make New York more affordable for hardworking families.
Our new budget proposal will control spending growth, help create new jobs and economic opportunities, and make major new investments in key priorities like education, college affordability, and water quality.
Specifically, our Senate Budget Resolution that was approved will focus on the following key elements:
- Reducing Property Taxes
- Promoting Economic Development
- Supporting Local Infrastructure
- Improving Higher Education Access and Affordability
- Making New York More Affordable
- Providing Record Funding for Education
- Protecting Public Health
- Strengthening Agriculture
- Supporting Veterans
- Protecting Seniors

This fiscally responsible plan is balanced without new taxes or fees, makes a historic investment in protecting and enhancing water quality, and provides tax relief and other resources to businesses and hardworking New Yorkers that will help them achieve brighter futures. It is designed to give all New Yorkers the opportunity to succeed by helping to create good-paying jobs, cutting the heavy tax burden on families and job providers, and investing in education and infrastructure.
