“IDNYC is an initiative that extends basic services and identification to roughly one million vulnerable New Yorkers, including undocumented immigrants, seniors, and the homeless. Justice Phillip G. Minardo correctly saw the mean-spirited nature of this lawsuit. This transparent action attempted to sow fear among our immigrant communities and has failed. New York City can now continue to fulfill the commitment it made to its residents and keep all data private from the federal government. Our city government must maintain bonds of trust with undocumented immigrants in order for our city to remain a welcoming, diverse, and humane place.”
