Senator Gianaris Pens Letter to Rockrose Development in Support of Public Green Space

(Long Island City, NY) – Senator Michael Gianaris penned a letter to Rockrose Development to preserve the lot located on 43-12 Hunter Street in Long Island City. Community residents, including members of Court Square Civic Association, utilize this area as public green space for community events.
Senator Michael Gianaris said, “Any future development should ensure adequate infrastructure to handle our growing population, including and vastly improved mass transit, additional schools, parks and open spaces. Providing the public with a greener neighborhood and wide variety of recreational opportunities will create a thriving environment for present and future generations.”
Long Island City is one of the fastest growing neighborhood in New York City, seeing greater density and economic activity. Businesses and residential developments have continued to expand in western Queens.
