Statement Regarding Newstead Ranch Expansion

Empire State Development announced today that Newstead Ranch, Inc. plans to expand operations at its Sunrise Farm in the Town of Alabama, Genesee County. The fourth generation family owned company will construct two new pullet growing buildings, five laying henhouses, an egg processing facility, refrigerated storage and a packing supplies warehouse at the site. The expansion is part of a $64 million investment and the creation of up to 55 new jobs over the next five years.

Senator Michael Ranzenhofer has issued the following statement:

"Agriculture is a major driver of our economy in Genesee County, as well as the Finger Lakes, and it's important to support our family-owned farms in order to ensure their continued success. That is why I am excited about Newstead Ranch's expansion at its operations at multiple locations across the region and creating more than 50 new jobs."
