Senator Helming Attends Finger Lakes Regional Watershed Alliance Meeting

Senator Pamela A. Helming (R,C,I-Canandaigua) stands with members of the Finger Lakes Regional Watershed Alliance following the group’s Monday, July 17, 2017 meeting at the Finger Lakes Institute in Geneva. As well as listening to reports about the efforts of the FLRWA and its individual lake associations around the Finger Lakes region, Senator Helming had the opportunity to address the work that she is doing to protect bodies of water and drinking water sources around the region.

“As someone who has lived near Canandaigua Lake for more than 30 years, I am proud to be an advocate for the vast natural resources of the Finger Lakes region, including these pristine bodies of water from which many of us in the 54^th District get our drinking water. It was a pleasure to attend the Finger Lakes Regional Watershed Alliance meeting with these terrific individuals who represent all 11 of the Finger Lakes from Otisco Lake westward to Conesus Lake. It was important to hear them share information regarding issues that concern these lakes and other bodies of water, such staffing to monitor these lakes, and see what we in the State Legislature can do to help them and support their efforts,” Senator Helming said.
