Senator Pamela A. Helming (R,C,I-Canandaigua) greets residents of the Terrace at Newark assisted living facility with President and CEO Chris Vitale in the Yesterdays Café ice cream parlor. Senator Helming toured the facility with President Vitale and Administrator Terri Silvestri on Tuesday, Sept. 12, as the staff and residents were celebrating National Assisted Living Week. As well as the ice cream parlor, Senator Helming saw the common areas around the facility and some of the private rooms, visiting with residents relaxing in their homes or doing activities with other people in the common areas.
“Whether they were enjoying friendship inside the café, socializing with other residents during a group activity, or relaxing in the sunny common areas, I saw so many smiling faces among the people who live at Terrace at Newark. The Terrace looks and feels more like a comfortable home than an assisted living facility and certainly appears to foster a sense of both independence and companionship. I truly enjoyed visiting with all of the people there and was happy to celebrate National Assisted Living Week with the residents and Chris and his team,” Senator Helming said.
Senator Helming represents the 54th Senate District, which consists of Seneca and Wayne Counties, parts of Cayuga and Ontario Counties, and the towns of Lansing and Webster. For more information, please visit Senator Helming’s website, or follow @SenatorHelming on Facebook or Twitter.
