Senator Patrick M. Gallivan, (R-C-I, Elma) joined Town of Orangeville Supervisor Susan May, and Superintendent of Highways Wade Raggow Wednesday in a tour of the town’s highway building, which has been expanded and upgraded. Senator Gallivan secured a $75,000 state grant in 2016 to fund the project, which included installation of a new heating and cooling system, updated lighting and the construction of a 48 feet X 60 feet barn to store highway equipment.
“These upgrades will help make the highway department more energy efficient and will protect the town’s equipment from the elements,” Gallivan said. “It’s important for the state to work in cooperating with local governments and support projects that result in better services for residents.”
“This project would not have been possible without state funding,” said Supervisor May. “These badly needed upgrades and expansion will serve our highway department for years to come. I thank Senator Gallivan for securing the grant and for his continued support of our community.”
Funding for the project was secured through the State and Municipal Facilities Program.
