State Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing that she will host a “Free Family Zoo Day” at the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park on Tuesday, August 15th.

The event—which will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.—will feature free admission for families, unique animal exhibits, hands-on activities, refreshments and more.

“The New York State Zoo at Thompson Park is one of the gems of the North Country and provides people not only with opportunities to learn about animals, but also about the importance of protecting our planet,” said Senator Ritchie.

“As a mother and grandmother, I know how exciting—and educational—a day at the zoo can be for young people.  I would like to thank the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park for partnering with me to make this special event possible, and look forward to welcoming families to the Zoo on August 15th.

“The New York State Zoo at Thompson Park is dedicated to providing visitors with experiences that foster an appreciation of our state’s ecosystem,” said Leslie Clark, Director of the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park.  “We are pleased to work with Senator Ritchie and excited to provide North Country families with a chance to experience all the Zoo has to offer.”
