State Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing that she has secured $50,000 in special state funding to help the Village of West Carthage improve its River Bend Park.
Two years ago, West Carthage completed a project—upgrading River Bend Park and the river access it offers—but there were still several other areas of the park that needed work. This funding from Senator Ritchie allows the village to complete more of that work, improving the park’s accessibility and making several safety upgrades, including the addition of extra lighting.
“In every community, it’s important that residents have places to go where they can enjoy the outdoors with family and friends,” said Senator Ritchie. “River Bend Park is one of those special places and I am pleased to help West Carthage make the park even better for its residents and visitors.”
“The village wants to thank Senator Ritchie for her commitment to improving recreation and tourism opportunities for our residents and businesses,” said Village of West Carthage Mayor Scott Burto. “These opportunities are important to growing our communities.”
Release of funds is subject to state approval.
