Ritchie: Jefferson County Residents Can Get Rid Of Waste Tires For Free At Upcoming Events
May 11, 2017
State Senator Patty Ritchie is encouraging Jefferson County residents to dispose of waste tires at no cost during upcoming “Tire Take Back” days occurring on Saturday May 20th and Saturday June 10th.
“Unused waste tires can act as a breeding ground for mosquitos that can carry deadly diseases, not to mention they can clutter yards,” said Senator Ritchie. “I’m pleased to be once again partnering with Jefferson County officials to offer this free service to residents as a way to not only protect the environment, but also get rid of those unsightly waste tires.”
These events are being held in conjunction with the Jefferson County Highway Department. Residents will have the opportunity to dispose of up to eight waste tires at no cost. Tractor tires will be accepted, but they must be quartered. In addition, tires on rims will be accepted.
Details of the events are as follows:
Saturday, May 20th
8am to 12pm
Jefferson County Highway Department
21897 County Route 190, Watertown
Saturday, June 10th
8am to 12pm
Town of Adams Highway Department
13269 Victory Lane, Adams Center
Since 2013, more than 50,000 waste tires have been collected through Senator Ritchie’s “Tire Take Back” events.
