Ritchie: Oswego County Residents Can Get Rid Of Waste Tires For Free At Upcoming Events
May 9, 2017
State Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing Oswego County residents can dispose of waste tires at no cost during upcoming “Tire Take Back” days, happening on Saturday May 13th and Saturday June 17th.
“With the weather changing, many homeowners are cleaning up debris—such as unwanted waste tires—that can act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes that carry deadly diseases, like EEE,” said Senator Ritchie. “I’m pleased to once again partner with Oswego County officials to ‘fight the bite’ and offer this free service to residents as a way to not only beautify our region, but also to protect public health.”
The events are being held in conjunction with the Oswego County Legislature and the Oswego County Department of Solid Waste. Oswego County residents may dispose of up to eight tires at no cost and are encouraged to bring their unwanted waste tires from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. to the following locations:
Pulaski Transfer Station
100 County Route 2A
Oswego Transfer Station
700 East Seneca Street
Hastings Transfer Station
1391 US Route 11
Hannibal Transfer Station
1167 County Route 7
Bristol Hill Transfer Station
3125 NYS Route 3
Please note that tractor tires will be accepted, but must be quartered. Since 2013, more than 50,000 waste tires have been collected through Senator Ritchie’s “Tire Take Back” events.
