Ritchie Reminds Residents They Can Dispose Of Waste Tires At No Cost This Weekend
June 13, 2017
State Senator Patty Ritchie is reminding Oswego County residents to take advantage of her upcoming “Tire Take Back” events to dispose of unwanted waste tires.
“Waste tires not only unsightly, but can also act as a breeding ground for mosquitoes that can carry sometimes deadly diseases like EEE,” said Senator Ritchie. “I’m pleased to be working yet again with the Oswego County Legislature and its Chairman Kevin Gardner, as well as the Oswego County Department of Solid Waste to offer this event to residents at no cost to help preserve the environment and protect public health.”
Residents can bring their unwanted waste tires to the below locations from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.:
Pulaski Transfer Station
100 County Route 2A
Oswego Transfer Station
700 East Seneca Street
Hastings Transfer Station
1391 US Route 11
Hannibal Transfer Station
1167 County Route 7
Bristol Hill Transfer Station
3125 NYS Route 3
Oswego County residents are encouraged to bring up to eight waste tires for disposal at no cost. Tractor tires will be accepted, but they must be quartered. Passenger tires on rims will also be accepted.
Since 2013, more than 60,000 waste tires have been disposed of through Senator Ritchie’s “Tire Take Back” events across Central and Northern New York.
