Deputy Vice Chair of the Senate Health Committee Senator Patty Ritchie recently had the opportunity to tour Upstate Medical University in Syracuse.
During her visit, Senator Ritchie saw firsthand how the facility is working to improve the health of those in Upstate New York. While there, she also had the opportunity to tour both the Golisano Children’s Hospital and the Upstate Cancer Center.
In her role as the Deputy Vice Chair of the Senate Health Committee, Senator Ritchie has been working to improve the quality of—as well as access to—health care in New York State and the region she represents. Her most recent efforts include securing funds to help local hospitals purchase much-needed equipment, as well as to provide free health screenings for women and working to attract medical professionals to rural parts of the state.
