New York’s libraries are an essential part of our communities, providing everything from the latest bestsellers and resources to help people land their next job to children’s activities and special cultural events. As Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Libraries, I want to support our libraries and help them continue to thrive.
During the recent 2017 Legislative Session, I met with librarians and library administrators from across the state and heard about their concerns and challenges. Going forward, I would like to hear from the larger library community to see how we can work together and help them improve the services they offer to patrons.
To that end, I am launching my “2017 Library Survey.” This short, online survey—available by clicking here, or on the link above—asks questions about books and other loaning materials, funding, collaboration, technology, population and more.
Feedback gathered from this survey will help to identify ways in which we can work with New York’s more than 750 public libraries to strengthen the services they provide to thousands of patrons in every corner of the Empire State.
Thank you in advance for being part of this effort to improve learning opportunities and enrich communities across our state.
Sincerely,
Senator Patty Ritchie
