Local law enforcement agencies came together for a check presentation ceremony at the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office in Albion. The funding, secured by Senator Rob Ortt, will assist in emergencies, crime-fighting efforts, and allow agencies to operate more effectively and efficiently.

Senator Ortt presented the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office with a $15,000 check to purchase lights for the patrol rifles and a traffic radar to deter speeding.

The Village of Medina Police Department received $5,000 to install video monitoring cameras for the interview and holding rooms and on the exterior of the building.

Brockport Police Department and Ogden Police Department in Monroe County received $5,000 each. Brockport will use the funding toward traffic safety enforcement upgrading 3 to 4 radar units in patrol cars. Ogden plans on purchasing approximately three shotguns for its police force.

Senator Ortt secured the funding as part of this year’s state budget in addition to public protection funding secured over the past two years for law enforcement agencies.
