Senator Rob Ortt made a stop in Monroe County Wednesday ceremonially delivering a total of $15,000 in state funding. An oversized check for $5,000 was presented to the Ogden Farmers Library. The library plans to use the funding to implement a 3D printing program, and purchase new equipment, including copy machines and overhead projectors.
Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES received $10,000 to help support the Rochester-Monroe Anti-Poverty initiative and the local needs of the community. The recently launched Adult Career Education Diploma (ACED) program provides free job training to equip qualifying adults with the necessary skills for in-demand job opportunities. The grant will be used to fund key technical instructional tools such as smart boards, analytic software programs, and chrome books. These tools help adult learners master the content and knowledge necessary to successfully achieve their High School Equivalency. At the same time, on the job training allows participants to enter the workforce as skilled employees in the culinary arts, information technology, healthcare and skilled trades.
