State Senator Rob Ortt (R,C,I-North Tonawanda) today issued the following statement regarding the decision to forgo a proposal to build a lodge on Goat Island.
“I applaud Governor Cuomo and his economic development team for reconsidering the location of a lodge on Goat Island. Although I opposed the original location, I appreciated the bold proposal. It is my hope that we’ll be able to now create a consensus moving forward that accounts for local economic and environmental concerns. With the right location, a major lodge can bring long-needed attention, visitors, and funds to the park and surrounding community.”
