Mahopac, NY - Senator Terrence Murphy made a surprise appearance at the 47th PARC Preschool Graduation held in Mahopac on June 16th. Senator Murphy congratulated the 14 graduates, and spoke with teachers and parents about the importance of recognizing when a child may have a learning or behavioral disability.
"It is vital that we take care of our most vulnerable kids," said Senator Murphy. "We need to give them the tools that will help them succeed in life. PARC Preschool has a compassionate, knowledgeable staff with proven programs and services than can help kids with special needs reach their full potential."
The theme of the graduation, "Oh! The Places You'll Go!" took its inspiration from the parables and wit of Dr. Seuss. The graduates performed a medley of songs for guests including, "If You're Happy and You Know it," "The Wheels on the Bus," and "B-I-N-G-O."
PARC Preschool is a private, not-for-profit, New York State Department of Education certified school for children ages three-to five-years with special needs. PARC Preschool provides center-based and community-based services to families residing in Putnam and Westchester counties.
