Sunnyside up: Senator Murphy honors veterans with free pancake breakfast
November 6, 2017
Mt. Kisco, NY - Veterans in the Mount Kisco area are a tightly knit family, selflessly working together for the betterment of their community. The Moses Taylor American Legion Post 136 has become a second home for the local men and women who have served their country from World War II to the Iraq War. To thank veterans for their military and community service, Senator Terrence Murphy hosted a free veterans' pancake breakfast at the American Legion on November 4.
The event gave veterans and fellow Legionnaires the opportunity to share their memories over a hearty breakfast. Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino joined in the celebration, recognizing the men for their bravery and dedication. Westchester County Legislator Frances Corcoran displayed his culinary expertise in manning the grill.
"It is important to show our appreciation to our veterans," said Senator Murphy. "They believed in combat overseas, not at home. Without their service, our right to vote and freedom of speech would be in jeopardy."
