Queens, NY – Today, Senator Tony Avella visited P.S. 188Q Kingsbury in Oakland Gardens to present 4th grader Elisia Zeng with her winning submission from the NYS Senate’s Earth Day Poster Contest.
110 students across 16 schools from Senate District 11 entered the contest and submitted their best designs for a poster celebrating Earth Day. All entries from students across the District can be viewed on Senator Avella’s website.
“Every student who entered this contest did a great job communicating their concern for our environment through their creativity. As a member of the Senate’s Environmental Conservation committee I am proud to see young people across my District take a serious interest in the future of our planet. I hope that Elisia and other students her age continue to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining our environment for generations to come,” said Senator Avella.
