May 12, 2017
Senator Bill Larkin (R-C-I, Cornwall-On-Hudson) was joined today by Town of Montgomery Supervisor Mike Hayes, council members, police officers and other local officials as he presented a check for $150,000 to be used towards Town Hall renovations. The check presentation took place at Town Hall in Montgomery, NY.
“Senator Larkin has been delivering for the Town of Montgomery for decades and he has come through again in a big way,” said Montgomery Supervisor Mike Hayes. “This grant will help us to complete a vital infrastructure project that has been put off for too many years due to a lack of available funds. Infrastructure improvements are expensive and this grant will allow us to increase our efficiency without overburdening our local taxpayers.”
“It is my honor to provide this grant to the Town of Montgomery,” said Senator Bill Larkin. “Local infrastructure projects such as this one are not often on the public’s radar but are vital to our communities. Working with leaders of our local municipalities is one of the most important aspects of my job as a State Senator. I look forward to continuing our work together on behalf of residents of the greater Montgomery community.”
This grant will be used to rehabilitate Town Hall, which currently houses all Town of Montgomery operations, along with the court and police department. The funds will be used to repair severe structural issues with the existing building, as well as retrofitting certain areas to increase productivity and efficiency.
This grant is through the State and Municipal Facilities Program (SAM) and will be administered by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY).
