Senator Phillips Announces Senate Passes Resolution Honoring FDNY Firefighter Michael Davidson Of Floral Park

Senator Elaine Phillips announced today that the New York State Senate passed a resolution honoring FDNY firefighter Michael Davidson, a Floral Park resident, who lost his life battling a fire in Manhattan on Friday, March 23, 2018.

“Michael Davidson was a true American hero who devoted his life to serving and protecting New Yorkers,” Senator Phillips said. “A fifteen-year veteran of the FDNY, Lieutenant Davidson was cited for bravery four times, never hesitating to help those in need. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to family and friends of Michael, his fellow FDNY firefighters, and the entire Floral Park community. “

Lieutenant Davidson, 37, was laid to rest Tuesday following a funeral service attended by thousands at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. He is survived by his wife, Eileen, and their four young children ages 7,6,3 and 1.
