Senator Elaine Phillips recently attended The Long Island Air Force Association’s 50th Vietnam Anniversary Commemorative Medal Ceremony to honor Long Island veterans. Senator Phillips bestowed medals upon veterans who served in the military during the Vietnam War.
“As Americans, we owe no greater debt than that which we owe to our veterans for their selfless sacrifices that have provided us freedom and opportunity,” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “Thank you to the Long Island Air Force Association and President Fred Di Fabio for inviting me to bestow medals upon the brave veterans who fought for our great nation. As elected officials, it is our duty to fight for our veterans with the same ferocity they have fought for us.”
The Long Island chapter of the Air Force Association was founded in 1946 to honor the Air Force heritage, while educating the public on the need for a strong aerospace power, advocating for STEM education and supporting military families.
