Senator Elaine Phillips recently attended the monthly Nassau Suffolk Water Commissioners’ Association meeting to discuss state measures for protecting Long Island’s drinking water.
“As State Senator, ensuring that our Long Island water resources remain safe for current residents and future generations has always been a top priority, and I look forward to working with all the water districts on this important initiative,” Senator Phillips said. “Thank you to President Andrew Bader and the entire board for inviting me to speak and for your dedication to Long Island's water.”
Senator Phillips discussed updates on 1,4-dioxane, her legislation to halt the renewal of permits to open the Jamaica wells, and the allocation of the historic $2.5 billion in funding for clean water infrastructure and water quality protection.
