September 27, 2018
Senator Elaine Phillips was recently the guest lecturer at a New York Institute of Technology’s (NYIT) annual fall semester event sponsored by the Friends of the School of Architecture and Design.
“It was a pleasure to speak to students and faculty recently at NYIT about the importance of architecture and design within a community and the role the government plays in the building process,” said Senator Phillips. “Thank you to John Sorrenti, Friends Executive Committee member and Dean Maria Perbellini for welcoming me to NYIT.”
The Friends also give out scholarships at the beginning of every fall semester to deserving students. The 4 winners are invited to the dinner and are presented with their award certificates immediately following the lecture. This year’s winner were Isaac Kalema , Eliana Colina, Bernarda Franco, and Jinal Patel for being awarded scholarships this year.
