Senator Phillips To Host ‘Avenues Of Opportunities’ Women’s Career Program At Belmont Park

Senator Elaine Phillips, in partnership with the Workforce Development Institute and local women business leaders and employers, will be hosting an “Avenue of Opportunities,” career event to provide pathways to successful careers for women on Long Island. The free program, being held April 12 at Belmont Park, will provide an opportunity to learn from and connect with women leaders in Healthcare, Manufacturing, Energy/Utilities, Building Trades, Child Care and more.
“Regardless of race, ethnicity or socio-economic background, all women should have the skills and opportunities to access a pathway to a successful career,” Senator Elaine Phillips said. “This program will help women navigate any roadblocks obstructing employment and connect them with career professionals, offering skill building and interview training. Thank you to the Workforce Development Institute and all of the local organizations participating in this inspiring event.”
Participants will learn about Long Island sectors seeking and supporting women in viable careers and will meet female industry leaders and discover how to achieve success on Long Island. The program will provide tools for accessing in-demand job opportunities and will connect employers, training providers and local career support centers to begin career preparation and interviews.
Attendees will hear from a diverse group of speakers who will tell their personal stories about the obstacles they overcame on their path to success.
