Senator Elaine Phillips announced today she has secured a $1 Million State and Municipal (SAM) Grant for the NYU Winthrop Hospital. The funding will help the Mineola based hospital expand their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
“Long Island is home to some of the best healthcare facilities in the state and nation and our local hospitals are critical to the health and well-being of our communities,” said Senator Phillips. “Ensuring residents have access to quality local healthcare is important to me and I am pleased to have secured this funding for a much needed expansion of the growing Neonatal Care Unit at Winthrop.”
The world class care unit in Mineola provides state-of-the-art facilities for babies born preterm or with medical conditions that may or may not require surgery.
“As we embark on the journey to modernize our facility, to fulfill the needs of our neighbors, it is very gratifying to know Senator Elaine Phillips brings the support of the State of New York,” said John Collins, President and CEO NYU Winthrop Hospital.”
