Statement From Senator Elaine on death of FDNY Firefighter Michael Davidson

March 23, 2018

Last night the Floral Park community sadly lost one of their own when FDNY Firefighter Michael Davidson passed away in the line of duty battling a fire in Manhattan. A fifteen-year veteran of the department, Davidson was cited for bravery four times and was a true New York hero and a courageous public servant. He came from a proud family of firefighters and leaves behind his wife Eileen and four young children.

My deepest condolences and prayers go out to family and friends of Michael, his fellow FDNY firefighters, and the entire Floral Park community.  We owe a tremendous debt to the brave men and women, like firefighter Davidson, who fearlessly protect and serve our communities.  God Bless Michael Davidson. We will mourn this tragic loss alongside those he leaves behind.
