SENATOR AMEDORE ANNOUNCES $50,000 FOR COXSACKIE SENIOR CENTER
October 1, 2018
Senator George Amedore today announced he has designated the Town of Coxsackie to receive a $50,000 state grant to pave the senior center parking lot.
The Town-owned senior center was completed nearly seven years ago, but the town lacked funding to pave the approximately 20,000 square ft. parking lot, which is currently topped with crushed stone.
“The senior center is such an asset to the Town of Coxsackie, but the current condition of the parking lot can present hazardous conditions for our seniors and others who make use of the center,” said Senator Amedore. “I’m happy to secure this funding to repave the parking lot and improve the safety of all who visit the senior center.”
“I want to thank Senator Amedore for this grant. The Senator has always been a good friend to the people of Coxsackie. He responded to my request for assistance immediately, and his efforts on behalf of our senior citizens will greatly improve their enjoyment of, and safe access to, our senior center,” said Coxsackie Town Supervisor Rick Hanse.
The funding will be used for a comprehensive project, including the layout of the parking lot, a drainage plan, the installation of crusher run stone to grade the lot, cleaning the drainage swale to a catch basin located just south of the parking lot, paving and painting.
